Licences, permits, regulations, policies, enforcement and legislation – they are all important ways to protect and manage our natural resources. Some of the natural resource activities that require licences and permits include hunting, fishing, working near water, forest management on crown land and aggregate use.

Conservation Officers Protect Resources


Each year charges are laid and fines levied for abuse of Ontario's natural resources that are protected by both provincial and federal legislation.   The Ministry of Natural Resources lays between 8,000 and 10,000 charges yearly for natural resources violations.
