
Location: Round Lake Ranger Camp is located on beautiful Round Lake in Foy Provincial Park near Pembroke and the Village of Bonnechere.

Training and Education: Round Lake Rangers receive training and education in emergency first aid, Health and Safety and WHMIS, Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Prevention, orientation, tool training, flat water canoe skills and black bear awareness.
Other organized educational activities might include things such as visiting museums in Ottawa, touring a logging operation and mill or visiting the Algonquin Provincial Park logging museum and visitor centre.
Work Projects: Rangers work in Bonnechere and Algonquin Provincial Parks brushing park trails and canoe routes, cleaning up camp sites and general maintenance. Much of this work includes multi-day canoe trips to interior areas Algonquin Park to complete work on interior hiking trails.
Round Lake Rangers also work on a number of other projects including work with local partners. Rangers conducted walleye and whitefish spawning bed rehabilitation and enhancements near the Tramore Dam on the Bonnechere River. Rangers also work on stream rehabilitation projects, lake surveys and the removal of beaver dams in order to restore streams to Brook Trout. Rangers may also work erecting duck boxes, work on projects with area trappers, participate in data collection for fish & wildlife studies, or spend time on an archeological dig.
Recreation: Round Lake Rangers will find time after a hard days work to enjoy things such as soccer, baseball, fishing, movies, jam sessions, campfires or swimming at the camps spectacular beach. There are also opportunities to go to local towns for shopping trips. Towards the end of their eight weeks, Rangers will attend the annual Jamboree where one camp hosts several ranger camps for a weekend of camaraderie and fun competition.
