Training and Education: Moose Lake Ranger's receive training opportunities including Health and Safety, Flatwater Canoe Instruction, emergency first aid, bear awareness, forest fire prevention and many more.

Like to canoe? Want to learn how? Count this as one of the many fun activities a Moose Lake Ontario Ranger will get to experience! A summer highlight is the opportunity to go on a working canoe trip with overnight camping.

Work Projects: Moose Lake Rangers carry out work in some of the provincial parks in our surrounding area. Emily Provincial Park, Algonquin Provincial Park, Arrowhead Provincial Park, are just a few of the parks we visit to brush park trails, post signs and maintain campsites.

Rangers work with a diverse range of partners carrying out projects and assistance specific to the partner's requirements. A cross section of the many job experiences include: hands-on experience with fish collection, invertebrate collection, spawning shoal creation, trail maintenance, portage clearing, pruning trees and many, many, more.

Recreation: Relationship building is one of the best loved attributes of the Ontario Ranger Program. At Moose Lake, rangers will find a number of scheduled recreational activities such as volleyball games, themed dinners, movie nights, talent shows, shopping, local tourist attractions and Jamboree just to name a few. There is also time for unscheduled recreation such as the sauna, swimming, fishing, sports, games and more.
