If you were born in 1995, you could be an Ontario Stewardship Ranger in the summer of 2012.

Application forms and team locations for the 2012 Ontario Stewardship Rangers will be available on this website in mid February.

The deadline for 2012 Ontario Stewardship Ranger applications will be May 4, 2012.

As an Ontario Stewardship Ranger you would live at home and report to a work location every day in your own community.

Being a member of an Ontario Stewardship Ranger team is a great experience! Each team consists of four Rangers and one Team Lead.

Ontario Stewardship Rangers work for eight weeks every summer on a variety of natural resources management projects, including: 

• Creating wildlife habitat 
• Researching forests 
• Building fish spawning beds
• Removing invasive species
• Studying species at risk
• Cleaning up streams
• Maintaining hiking trails

After working as an Ontario Stewardship Ranger you will have practical work experience to include on your resume. You will participate in Health and Safety and First Aid training and may also have the opportunity to participate in other learning events and training that could include:

• Use of tools and equipment
• Camping trips
• Canoe safety courses
• Tours of a wind farms or fish hatcheries
