Emergency Management

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act is required to develop an Emergency Response Plan that outlines how the ministry will prepare for and respond to emergency situations or disasters.

 

MNR has the lead responsibility under the Act for managing in the event of a number of hazards. The Water Resources Section is specifically responsible for addressing the following water-related hazards:

 

In order to coordinate an effective response to an emergency, all ministries prepare Emergency Response Plans for their assigned hazards.  MNR’s Emergency Response Plan describes the measures that should be taken to assist in safeguarding the health, safety, welfare and property of the people of Ontario.
