Water Resources Information Program

 

The Water Resources Information Program (WRIP) ensures that information about Ontario’s water resources is accessible, accurate and useable.

 

Provincial government ministries, municipalities and conservation authorities are just some of the agencies that rely on good water-related information to create maps, conduct geographic analysis and support decisions about the province’s water resources.

 

The Water Resources Information Program:

  • Encourages information sharing among agencies with a responsibility for water
  • Provides leadership, and guidance in information management practices
  • Develops data improvement solutions, architecture and standards
  • Acts as a focus point for water-related information in Ontario

Clean, safe drinking water is essential to all aspects of our lives. Protecting the sources of our drinking water will help ensure that there is enough water for all our uses–now and into the future.

 

Government agencies are committed to source water protection planning.
