The Ontario Wood program aims to raise awareness of the benefits of buying local Ontario wood products and encourage Ontarians to do so.
The program is free for wood product producers, distributors, builders and supporters throughout Ontario. As a potential licensee, you pay nothing to use the Ontario Wood logo.
The Ontario Wood logo identifies that your licensed products are made from wood that is grown, harvested and processed right here in Ontario. When consumers see the logo they can feel confident the wood products they’re buying have been harvested under some of the highest environmental standards in the world.
Using the Ontario Wood logo on your products and marketing materials is the best way to help shoppers identify local wood products!
Definition of Ontario Wood - More than 75% of the wood used in an Ontario Wood product is from trees that are harvested from sustainably managed forests in Ontario. Up to 25% of the wood may come from sustainably managed forests in the rest of Canada. All wood used in Ontario Wood products must be from tree species that are indigenous to or are commercially grown in Ontario. In addition, all processing associated with the manufacturing of the products must take place in facilities located in Ontario.
