The Mining and Lands Commissioner has historically been persona designata under the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act which provides for an inquiry upon the request of an applicant who has received notice from the Minister of Natural Resources of his intention to refuse approval or make an order concerning the construction, repair, improvement or removal of a dam. An inquiry will result in a report with recommendations to the Minister.
The official version of the Orders of the Mining and Lands Commissioner and the Deputy Mining and Lands Commissioner is the signed original in the Office file. In the event that there is a question about content, the original in the Office file takes precedence.
