The Community Fisheries and Wildlife Involvement Program (CFWIP) is your opportunity to participate in hands-on fish and wildlife management and biodiversity conservation activities.
You can develop volunteer projects that will aid fish and wildlife in the province, and improve opportunities for outdoor recreation.
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) will provide financial help, expertise, equipment and materials for approved CFWIP projects. We welcome everyone in Ontario to volunteer his or her time and ideas.

CFWIP projects must meet three basic objectives:
Examples of typical projects:
An individual or group can make a difference for fish and wildlife by getting involved in a CFWIP project in the community. CFWIP funds proposals from:
We welcome new ideas. Your project can be as unique or traditional as you like, as long as it benefits fish and wildlife.
To be eligible for funding, your project must confirm to the three CFWIP objectives, all pertinent legislation, and comply with the MNR district's fish and wildlife management plans and biodiversity priorities.
Applications are available from offices of the Ministry of Natural Resources or online (refer to link below).
Projects that are approved will receive funding to help cover the costs of equipment and materials used by volunteer workers.
It's fun! Your efforts will directly benefit Ontario's fish and wildlife biodiversity. Not only will you have a better understanding of our biodiversity, you will also feel a great sense of accomplishment!
CFWIP allows you to participate in your own way. Your idea may qualify for project funding. Ask about the Community Fish and Wildlife Involvement Program at the MNR office in your area.
