Fish and Wildlife Funding
Since 1996, Ontario has put all licence fees, royalties and fines collected under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act into a Special Purpose Account to be used exclusively for fish and wildlife management.
For 2012-13, the Fish and Wildlife Special Purpose Account contributed approximately $72.3 million to fish and wildlife management in Ontario. The remaining funding comes from other provincial sources.
