More on Funding Fisheries Management

Fish and Wildlife Funding

Since 1996, Ontario has put all licence fees, royalties, and fines collected under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act into a Special Purpose Account to be used exclusively for fish and wildlife management.

In 2008-09, approximately $64 million, or 71%, of the overall program funding is planned to be sourced from the Fish and Wildlife Special Purpose Account. The remaining funding comes from other provincial sources.
