Baxter Conservation Area


Directions: Located on Carter Road off the south end of Rideau Valley Drive. From Highway #416, take Dilworth Road east, at the turn to Rideau Valley Drive turn right onto Carter Road (Baxter Conservation area sign here).

Description: This area is maintained and owned by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. This is a large conservation area (68 ha) with 5 km of trails through wetlands, plantations, forests, thickets, nut groves, and wildflower gardens. A sandy beach is available with picnic areas and shelters, washrooms and fishing along shore. A fee is requested for use of the facilities.

Reeve Craig Launch


Directions: From Highway #416, take Dilworth Road west, turn left (south) onto Fourth Line road (turns into Donnelly Drive). At the large curve in the road to the west take the Reeve Craig road to the left (east), and then turn onto a little road on the right (Greenline Road).

Description: A popular launch because it is the best fishing area on the Rideau River. No highway signs. Mud/gravel ramp. Good parking and no fee.
