LAKE ST. JOSEPH FACTS

 

  • Area: 49 400 hectares (121,822 acres)
  • Lake St. Joseph is a large lake along the southern border of Fisheries Management Zone 2.
  • Lying 35 kilometres south of Pickle Lake, Lake St. Joseph is close to the northern limit of the Ontario road network. Its large size and remote location contribute to excellent fisheries.

LAKE-WIDE REGULATIONS
• Only one barbless hook may be used.
• Non-residents require a special tag which is available at no charge from the Lake St. Joseph Tourist Operators.
• Smelt may not be used as bait or possessed for use as bait.
• Non-residents camping on Crown land must follow Conservation Fishing Licence limits.
WATERBODY EXCEPTION DETAILS
Lake St. Joseph – Twiname Bay east of a line beginning at north shore at 51O09’10”N., 90O27’10”W., southeast to 51O08’54”N., 90O25’52”W., and south to 51O08’30”N., 90O25’35”W. Fish sanctuary – no fishing from Mar. 1 – June 14.
