
Chapman Mills Conservation Area
Directions: From Highway #417 (the Queensway) take the Vanier Parkway/Riverside Drive exit. Take Riverside Drive south, to Hunt Club Road. Travel west on Hunt Club, cross the bridge over the Rideau River, then travel south on Prince of Wales Drive (former Highway #16). The Chapman Mills Conservation Area is located on the west bank of the Rideau River between Winding Way and Lodge Road. The parking lot is off Winding Way.
Description: This area is maintained and owned by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. The conservation area includes a parking lot off Winding Way, washrooms, a picnic shelter and lookouts along the trail. Walkways and boardwalks lead pedestrians on a 1.5 km stroll through some sensitive and beautiful habitats and interpretive signs tell the environmental
story at points along the path. Fishing platforms are available along the shore at 2 points and a canoe launch is located near the picnic shelter for access to the Rideau river for canoe and kayak enthusiasts.

Riverside Park
Directions: From Highway #417 (the Queensway) take the Vanier Parkway/Riverside Drive exit. Take Riverside Drive south past Hunt Club which changes name to River Road. Travel approximately 7 km and look for the Riverside Park sign on the right hand side of the road.
Description: This large park area has abundant green areas for picnicking, a playground, a picnic gazebo, a lookout over the Rideau River and plenty of parking for day trippers. This site does not have a washroom. Gravel pathway to rocky shoreline near the lookout situated near the Gazebo. Site looks across the river to Chapman Mills Conservation Area.
