The Make a Map application allows you to make your own topographic map of any part of Ontario. The data used to make maps is from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Natural Resources Canada, and represents the most visible features in the landscape suitable for display at scales from 1:10,000 to 1:250:000.
The application will allow users to create PDF-format maps and send them via email, add text annotations to a map, and create "bookmarks" which will allow users to store map locations and return to them later.
The Make a Map application is able to display data from the LIO Warehouse as well as draw on Web Map Services to display geographic data. LIO’s Make a Map application is compliant with the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure, developed by the federal government.
The Make a Map application was used to develop the following maps:
Fish Species in Waterbodies
Furbearer Management
Moose Management
Wind Power Allocation
