As part of the Ontario Government's new Imagery Strategy, LIO's next imagery acquisition project will bring organizations together to share the cost of acquiring high resolution, leaf off imagery (accurate to 50 cm on the ground) for areas in South Central Ontario.
Please refer to this map for areas being considered for capture in the spring of 2013. The geographic extent will be modified based on the boundaries of the organizations participating.
Funding
The Government of Ontario will provide the majority of the acquisition costs for the project. External partners will be required to share the remaining costs using an allocation model based on the total number of square kilometres ordered by all organizations. All products generated from the project, such as stereo data, digital surface models and ground control points, will be made available to the funding partners. More details will be provided in meetings and through communications to registered partners.
