The new Land Information Ontario (LIO) infrastructure will make it easier for users to access data.
Here’s how:
- Soon data will be discoverable and accessible through a self service function in our new metadata tool.
- Data will be available in file geodatabase, shapefile and KML formats to members of the Ontario Geospatial Data Exchange.
Users should know:
- LIO will no longer provide data in SNIF packages.
- All data in the LIO Warehouse will follow a different data model, although the data itself will not change. This may impact your apps or processes.
- The LIO Warehouse will not be updated prior to the launch of our new data distribution system in the fall of 2012. This means that users will not have access to the most current data until the fall. More details will be available in the coming weeks.
