This document is a supporting document to the silvicultural guides and in particular the Silvicultural Guide to Managing Spruce, Fir, Birch, and Aspen Mixedwoods in Ontario’s Boreal Forest. The philosophical and ecological basis for managing boreal mixedwood sites in Ontario is provided.  It is a series of notes kept in a binder format.
