Policy Framework for Sustainable Forests

A provincial policy statement of the Ontario Government that reflects the provincial interest in the stewardship of Ontario’s forests, regardless of land ownership, and supports provincial and national commitments to sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. These commitments are entrenched in law in the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (CFSA). All forest policies and associated management practices affecting the protection and sustained use of forest lands and resources across the province should be consistent with these strategic directions.
