Ontario's Forest Industry Facility (Mill) Statistics

The purpose of Ontario’s Forest Industry Facility Statistics is to provide information about forest resource processing facilities (mills) in Ontario.

Facilities provide data to the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) annually (in accordance with the Crown Forest Sustainability Act) as part licensing system. MNR also collects and maintains data on wood volume harvested through the Timber Resource Evaluation System (TREES). These data are combined in the following reports to give a reflection of forest industry activity in Ontario. Some of the information that is provided to MNR is considered commercially confidential (sales data by facility) and is not presented in the following reports. Information collected is meant to represent the primary forest resource processing sector.
