Annual Report on Forest Management - 2003/2004

This report marks a transition from reports which were consistent with the previous EA terms and conditions (1994), to a new report format which is consistent with the conditions of the Class EA Approval for Forest Management on Crown Lands in Ontario (2003).

New information contained in this report that was not included in previous reports includes:

• Clearcut data for 2002/03 has been presented in this report along with current clear-cut data for 2003/04. Changes to the content and timing of data submissions has afforded a catch-up to the current reporting year.
• For the first time, frequency data for clearcuts larger than 260 hectares is included in this report for 2003/04 clearcuts.
• Summarized results of the 2003/04 independent forest audits of six (6) management units, namely the Driftwood, Dryden, Ottawa Valley, Timmins, White River Forests and Timmins Management Units.
• An update of industry progress towards obtaining independent certification of forest management systems and operation.
