Forest Certification Resource Center - A sponsor-supported website, this site introduces the concept of forest certification, provides information on the major certification programs around the world and describes the markets for certified wood products.
CSA's Z809-02 Sustainiable Forest Management: Requirements and Guidance (PDF) - The CSA Z809-02 standard describes the requirements for sustainable forest management of a defined forest area, including the nature of the commitment, the requirements for public participation, the performance requirements, the management framework, the review of actions, and continual improvement.
FSC's National Boreal Forest standard - acceptable in Ontario (PDF) - The FSC National Boreal Forest Standard was developed by the Forest Stewardship Council Canada Working Group (FSC Canada) and was accredited by FSC on August 5, 2004 as a basis for certifying forests within the Canadian boreal forest.
FSC's Certification Standard for the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Region - currently under development/review (PDF) - This draft standard describes Indicators of compliance with FSC’s Principles of Criteria to be applied in the mixed wood forests of Ontario and Québec. A considerable amount of work had already been done towards developing this standard, in the preparation of proposed draft standards in 1999 and 2005 by working groups in Ontario and Québec respectively.
Information regarding the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standard:
SFI Inc.'s Sustainable Forestry Initiative standard (PDF) The SFI Standard applies to Canada and the United States and was approved on January 10, 2005. The standard is based on nine principles that address economic, environmental, cultural and legal issues, in addition to a commitment to continuously improve sustainable forest management.

It also provides links to additional information sources and contact information for any questions or concerns regarding the SFI program or a participant company.
