Fact Sheet 03 - Cone Shipment Indentification

Photo of a completed bag tag for cones being shipped in bagsThere are a variety of situations occurring at the Ontario Tree Seed Facility relating to inappropriate identification or lack thereof in the receipt of cone shipments. In order to create a more efficient receipt procedure, shipping tags on the bags and trays need to be completed with full and accurate information to prevent confusion for all staff involved.

 

TheA completed tray tag for cones shipped by trays example tags show all of the information that needs to be included when shipping. A rule of thumb is 60 Li. per bag and 40 Li. per tray.

 

Bulk bags have been used to facilitate the handling of numerous small bags. The bulk bags advantage is volume but still need to be palletized. If pallets are not available, contact the Ontario Tree Seed Facility for assistance.

 

The bulk bags are used for Jack Pine shipping only and can hold 1500 Li. or 15 Hl. See below for the example pictures of bulk bag shipping.
