A Review by the MNR Regarding the Class Environmental Assessment (2002)

In April 1994, after four and a half years of public hearings, the Environmental Assessment Board accepted MNR’s Class Environmental Assessment for Timber Management on Crown Lands in Ontario, and gave approval to proceed with the undertaking (i.e., the activities of access, harvest, renewal and maintenance, and their planning), subject to 115 terms and conditions. The review was submitted to the Minister of Environment and Energy in July 2002, and formed the basis for the conditions of MNR’s current Forest Management Class EA Approval.
