Section FOR 03 - Forest Resource Disposition Delivery Agent: Ministry of Natural Resources | |||
| » Introduction » View by section » Table of contents » Contacts » Print cover (pdf) |
Forest resource disposition is a process that occurs after the sustainable supply of wood has been determined for a designated management unit during the forest management planning process. The forest resource disposition process is used to fairly distribute the available supply of wood for harvesting and use by processing facilities (mills). The forest resource disposition process also involves assessing mill demand and identifying and addressing wood surplus and deficit situations. The Ministry of Natural Resources' (MNR) Provincial Wood Supply Strategy identifies critical wood supply surplus and deficit issues and provides strategies to address those issues.
This section provides policy directions required to support the administration of the forest resource disposition process regarding matters such as the right of first refusal to purchase wood, the resolution of disputes between licensees, the allocation and use of forest biofibre and applications for the retrieval of sunken logs.
Procedures listed but not posted are currently under review and will be made available upon approval. Please refer to contacts if you require information about the procedures under review.
