FOR 02 - Forest Management Planning 

This section provides policy directions required to support the administration of the forest management planning process. 

 

FOR 03 - Forest Resource Disposition

This section provides policy directions required to support the administration of the forest resource disposition process regarding matters such as the right of first refusal to purchase wood, the resolution of disputes between licensees, the allocation and use of forest biofibre and applications for the retrieval of sunken logs.

 

FOR 04 - Forestry Skills Assurance and Education

This section provides an overview of the skills assurance and education requirements under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act and the Environmental Assessment Act; and, highlights workforce competency programs administered by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

 

FOR 05 - Forest Licensing, Wood Allocation and Measurement

This section describes requirements under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (CFSA) pertaining to general matters regarding: manufacturing in Canada and dispute resolution; administration of sustainable forest licences, forest resource licences and forest resource processing facility licences; and wood measurement, which includes scaling competency, scaling training, agreements, penalties and special circumstances.

 

FOR 06 - Forest Health and Silviculture

This section describes forest health control program requirements related to the use of pesticides and herbicides; and, the administration of Ontario’s climatically-based seed zones established to ensure that tree seed and stock used in planting and direct seeding regeneration activities are adapted to local climatic conditions; and, the method for seed source identification used in Ontario.

 

FOR 07 - Forest Monitoring and Assessment

This section provides an overview of Ontario’s forest compliance program, which includes requirements for forest compliance information, monitoring and planning, the Ministry of Natural Resources program support and remedies and enforcement; and, audits.

 

FOR 08 - Non-Crown Forest Management

This section policy directions for the disposition of former agreement forest property and changes in land use inconsistent with forestry purposes on former agreement forest property.
