List of Forest Management Units

Management Units Designated under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, Section 7

 

 

Status: SFL - Sustainable Forest Licence, CR - Crown Managed, AFA - Algonquin Forest Authority

Notes:

1. The Armstrong Forest may become a cooperative SFL in 2009 and will amalgamate with Lake Nipigon Forest in 2010 (new Lake Nipigon MU)
2. The Black River Forest and Pic River Ojibway Forest are proposed to amalgamate in 2011 (new Pic River MU)
3. The Black Sturgeon Forest is proposed to amalgamte with Spruce River in 2011 (new Black Spruce MU)
4. The Cochrane-Moose River Forest is covered by 2 year continegncy plan and is proposed to amalgamate with the Iroquois Falls, Nighthawk and Smooth Rock Falls Mus in 2010 (new Cochrane Area MU)
5. The Dog River-Matawin Forest is initiating plan renewal 1 year early (2009)
6. The Kenogami Forest will be covered by a 1 year contingency plan.
7. The Kenora Forest will be covered by a 1 year contingency Plan and is proposed to amalgamate with the Whiskey Jack in 2012 (New Whiskey Jack MU)
8. The Lake Nipigon Forest will be initiating plan renewal 1 year early (2010) in order to amalgamate with the Armstrong Forest (new Lake Nipigon MU)
9. Romeo Malette Forest is covered by a 2 year contingency plan
10. The Whiskey Jack forest will be covered by a 3 year contingency plan and is proposed to amalgamate with Kenora in 2012 (new Whiskey Jack MU)
