Communities

The Far North spans the whole width of Northern Ontario, from Manitoba in the west, to James Bay and Quebec in the east.  It covers 42 percent of the province – some 450,000 square kilometres. This map represents all 34 communities that are geographically located in the Far North, of which 31 are First Nations.

The region includes the third largest wetland in the world - an area that is a globally significant carbon sink.
