$3,000 Fine For Using A Void Licence
A Lindsay man has been fined for using a void licence to hunt deer and for transporting illegally killed wildlife.
Carl Baldwin pleaded guilty to charges under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and was fined $2,000 for using a void licence and $1,000 for transporting illegally killed wildlife.
Court heard that Ministry of Natural Resources records showed Baldwin purchased his first deer licence on July 2, 2009 and illegally purchased a second deer licence on November 3, 2009. A conservation officer investigated and found that, after shooting his first deer and using his original deer seal, Baldwin purchased a second deer licence and shot a second deer with a bow. A seven-point buck shot on December 6, 2009 was seized.
Justice of the Peace Jason Mariasine heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Lindsay, on February 26, 2010.
