Parry Impens pleaded guilty to three offences under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, including careless hunting, night hunting and providing a false statement to a conservation officer. He was fined $3,500 and received a one-year hunting suspension.
The court heard that on the morning of December 6, 2008, a tip was received from a member of the public regarding a shot fired at night. The shot passed through the deer and narrowly missed another hunter setting up for the day’s hunt.

Justice of the Peace Susan Hoffman heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 5, 2009
