Jim McMullen of Parry Sound has been named the Ontario Conservation Officer of the Year for 2009.
The Ontario Conservation Officers Association and the Ministry of Natural Resources recognized McMullen for his professionalism and dedication during his 28 years of service. This includes his advocacy to appoint and train conservation officers to enforce the federal Small Vessel Regulations, which significantly increased marine safety enforcement in Ontario.
McMullen is currently stationed in Parry Sound with the Upper Great Lakes Enforcement Unit.
