Anglers Charged For Fishing In Fish Sanctuary During Closed Season
Seven Ontario residents have been charged with angling in a fish sanctuary on the Hawk River, east of Hawk Junction, during the time that fishing was prohibited.
The charges were laid by Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers after they received complaints from members of the public.
Conservation officers from Wawa District patrolled the sanctuary on June 14 and 15, 2009, and found seven Ontario residents fishing in the sanctuary.
Anglers are reminded that the dates fish sanctuaries are closed include the first and last dates stated in the fishing regulation summary and/or on the fish sanctuary signs.
