The Northern Mammal Ecology Program (NMEP) examines the determinants of density and distribution in northern Ontario’s mammalian species. NMEP research includes investigations of population biology, animal physiology, genetics, community, systems, and landscape ecology. NMEP has focused primarily on moose, as the program was first established as the Moose Guidelines Evaluation Program, but more recently research activities have also included forest-dwelling woodland caribou, elk, white-tailed deer, and wolves.

Further program details can be found in the NMEP brochure (pdf - 718kb).
