Member groups include Conservation Authorities, Federation of Ontario Naturalists, Ontario Stewardship, federal and provincial departments and ministries, Canadian Botanical Association, Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and others.

 

Ducks Unlimited Canada ( DUC)

Ducks Unlimited Canada conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. On-the-ground work is guided by the wetland and environmental research of DUC's scientists. DUC works to change policy in favour of wetland and habitat conservation, and delivers wetland and environmental education programs to teach Canadians about wetlands and the need to conserve them.

The Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) is a non-profit, voluntary organization representing over 500 Ontario cottagers’ associations plus individual and corporate members. The Nature Conservancy of Canada works to protect Canada's most threatened natural habitats and the endangered species that call them home.  NCC is dedicated to preserving ecologically significant areas in Canada through outright purchase, donations and conservation easements in an attempt to protect Canadian natural heritage for generations to come.  NCC also operates a Conservation Volunteers program that engages people in the protection of Canada’s biodiversity while providing a meaningful, hands-on educational experience in ecologically significant natural areas.

The Ontario Land Trust Alliance (OLTA) is a non-profit organization with a mandate to encourage the land trust movement throughout Ontario. OLTA is a first stop for private landowners who may be considering the establishment of a conservation easement on their property to protect some aspect of biodiversity.

 

The scope of the Ontario Land Trust Alliance encompasses wilderness, agricultural and other lands, water and facilities that have a natural, cultural or heritage significance to communities throughout Ontario.

 

Ontario Nature

Ontario Nature advocates the protection and restoration of species, natural habitats and landscapes that represent the full diversity of nature in Ontario. The organization coordinates research, education and conservation initiatives that connect thousands of individuals and communities across Ontario with nature. Ontario Nature operates a Volunteer for Nature program as an out-of-doors volunteer experience designed for people with an interest in biodiversity protection. Volunteers work alongside professional conservationists on hands-on projects such as bird, butterfly and dragonfly counts, boardwalk building, native tree planting and seed collection in some of Ontario's most important natural areas.
