The Ontario government released the State of the Aggregate Resource in Ontario Study in 2010. The purpose of the study was:
- to gain a better understanding of aggregate resources by gathering the most up-to-date information and current science on the consumption, demand, availability, analysis of alternatives, current reserves, rehabilitation, transportation, recycling/reuse and value of aggregates to the province of Ontario
- to obtain new information to help plan and manage aggregate resources in the province.

- State of the Aggregate Resource in Ontario Study Consolidated Report This consolidated report is a summary of information from a series of six papers that make up the State of the Aggregate Resource in Ontario Study.
