Hot spot
A particularly active part of a fire at points of more rapid spread or special threat, as opposed to working all parts at the same time or progressively.
Mop up
The act of making a fire area safe after the fire has been brought under control. This includes extinguishing all traces of fire above and below the surface.

A combination chopping and trenching tool, which combines a single-bitted axe-blade with a narrow adze-like trenching blade, fitted to a straight handle.
