As the flame front advances toward the structure you turn the pumps on, leave them running. You don't have to put any people at the actual structure during the exposure to the flame front so you can leave the sprinklers running for 8, 10, 12 hours with nobody there and come back and the dwellings are still intact.

If it weren't for the sprinklers when the building is exposed to the flame front the radiant heat and the embers are both going to cause so much damage that the structure wouldn’t have a chance.

This plan is a good setup here because it's got a metal roof and it's got fairly dependable grounds and a good water supply, then chances are like 95% we're going to save the structure.
