I'm delighted to be Minister of this interesting and exciting ministry.
From climate change action to renewable energy to tree planting to protecting endangered species and habitat, the Ministry of Natural Resources is leading the transformation to sustainable resource management.
Since being appointed Minister in October, I have learned a great deal about the challenges and opportunities that stem from the sustainable management of our natural resources.
My job is to think of the entire province of Ontario as one community, with many different interests and components.
Effectively managing this big community means understanding how the many factors can work together, to turn what appears to be opposing interests into new partnerships.
We need to work together to make this happen.
That's why I developed this journal.
I want to tell you my thoughts and I want to learn about what matters most to you.
By learning from each other, we'll be able to develop an understanding and make decisions that will benefit Ontario long into the future.
So, please check my journal regularly and e-mail me often.
I look forward to hearing from you.
