Asian Carp Found Near Lake Erie

May 2, 2013

MNR and the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans have confirmed a Grass Carp caught by a recreational angler on April 27, 2013 near Dunnville, Ontario, in the Grand River, near Lake Erie, was sterile and therefore unable to reproduce.

MNR encourages citizens to report possible sightings of Grass Carp and other invasive species to the Provincial Invading Species Hotline at 1-800-563-7711.
